GISKismet

GISKismet is a seamless visualization tool that represents data gathered using Kismet in a practical way. Because GISKismet stores information in the database, you can use SQL to query the data and generate graphics. GISKismet currently uses SQLite database and GoogleEarth / KML file for graphical purposes.

Let's see how to use it

Step 1:

To open GISKismet, go to: Applications → Click “Wireless Attacks” → giskismet.

As mentioned in previous post, use the Kismet tool to display data on all data scratch net packets and network XML files in the wireless network.

Step 2:

To import this file into Giskismet, type “root@kali:~# giskismet -x Kismetfilename.netxml” and it will start importing the files.

After importing, we can import them into Google Earth before we find the hotspots.

Step 3:

Assuming that we have already installed Google Earth, we click File → Open File that Giskismet created → Click “Open”.

The following map is displayed.

  1. I think you left out a step: after you've imported all the kismet .xml data into the database, you have to query the database and export the results of the query in a .kml format. Google Earth can import the resulting .kml file.
